Care Quality Commission (CQC) Turnaround
Challenge
A large mental health and community Trust was being scrutinised following a high-profile inquest regarding the care of a patient. Regulators including the Care Quality Commission and NHS Improvement required the Trust to turnaround and provide assurances on their delivery of quality care with a focus on learning and patient safety. Regulators sought independent assurance to confirm delivery.
Our work
The CEO of the Trust appointed our team to lead a programme of work to turnaround their CQC rating by putting in place a robust action plan establishing a robust governance framework after and undertaking a gap analysis and mapping assurance processes.
Outcomes
– Establishment of a robust governance process, using a bottom-up approach
– Delivery of the CQC actions
– Satisfying requirements of external independent assessors
– Putting in place a performance management framework
– Supporting the embedding of strong leadership
